Titanium Grade 3

Titanium Gr 3 (Commercially Pure) is a versatile, unalloyed titanium, characterized by major corrosion resistance in highly oxidizing and reducing environments. Additionally, it shows excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Ti Gr 3 shows the highest acceptable tension rate out of all commercially pure titanium grades. It is an excellent choice in constant working operations, where temperatures reach up to 800°F (425°C) as well as in intermittent working conditions where temperatures reach up to 1000°F (540°C). It can be welded, cold- and hot- machined, castable and is often utilized in cast valves and fittings. Exhibits good weldability and reasonable cold formability and ductility.

Typical applications include:

• automotive and aviation components and elements (marine airframe, aircraft parts which require formability, strength, weldability and corrosion resistance);
• chemical or oil and gas applications (heat exchangers, condensers, desalinization, tubing; pickling baskets, electrolytic production of copper, manganese, nickel and other metals);
• general applications;
